Stopping Over-Development

Chesterfield has always been a great place to live, work, & raise a family, which is why folks want to move here.
But as we know, we've experienced growth at a pace that's been disorienting.
Too much growth, too quickly, has strained our roads, our schools, and made life challenging. We're seeing too many apartments and other high-density housing, and our infrastructure isn't keeping up.
While growth is simply a reality, we need to do it in a way that empowers local communities and allows the infrastructure like roads and schools to keep up. That's why Mark supports local decision makers having the power to make decisions about growth, not far-off Richmond bureaucrats. It's also why he supports improving infrastructure to make sure our roads & schools aren't overcrowded.
His opponent, Leslie Mehta, wants MORE high-rise apartments in Chesterfield. She supports stripping local boards of zoning authority and instead empowering Richmond bureaucrats who will force Chesterfield to build high-density housing everywhere.
